APRIL 2025
- Connemarathon (27th April): The Connemara international marathon, one of the world's most scenic running events with unspoiled beauty and enduring terrain, includes an ultra, full and half marathon finishing in Maam Cross.
MAY 2025
- The West of Ireland Women's mini Marathon (4th May): Held in Castlebar, this event celebrates women in sport. Walkers, joggers and runners are equally welcome to participate. A Mini-Mini Fun run of 2km is also held for primary school children.
- Darkness Into Light (10th May): An inspiring fundraising event to support mental health, prevent suicide and give the gift of hope to those impacted by suicide. This event will take place on the gounds of Westport House @4.15am.
- Croagh Patrick Heritage Trail (10th May): A 20km linear walking trail running from Aghagower to the village of Murrisk at the foot of Croagh Patrick, in raising funds for the Mayo Roscommon Children's Hospice.
- Westportif Cycling Challenge (17th May): Ireland's most breathtaking cycling adventure, with a 75km or 150km route, offering an unforgettable journey through some of the most jaw-droping landsacpes of mayo.
- Relay for Life Westport (17th May): A 24hr event in aid of the Irish Cancer Society. You can donate to the event, or to your favaourite team or to a fundraiser. You can also buy a Candle of Hope bag and join the evening ceremony of music and remembrance.
- The Wild Atlantic Ultra (24th May): Taking place in Louisburgh, the WAU is a 50-mile Ultra Marathon and one of the most scenic races in Ireland.
JUNE 2025
- Mayo Pride Festival (30th May - 1st June): Join the annual Westport Pride parade.
- The Westport Folk & Bluegrass Festival (5th-8th June): A 3 day event that stages multiple high quality musical acts from Ireland, Europe, The USA and beyond. This event is widely regarded as one of the leading Folk & Bluegrass events in the country.
- The Westport Sea Angling Festival (20th-22nd June): An annual fishing competition attracting anglers from Ireland and the UK, featuring both shore and boat competitions.
