  • Achill Half Marathon & 10K (4th): 21st anniversary of this annual event, starting and ending at Keel Sandybanks visit website
  • Mayo international Kite Festival (18th & 19th):  From 1pm to 5pm, watch the International pros fly kite creations the size of a bus in a thousand colour extravaganza that fills the sky in Keel Beach, Achill Island. visit website
  • Ballinrobe Racecourse -Family Day (20th): A 2-day event with first race starting @5.00pm and last one TBC. It's also a family day so be ready for a line-up of free activities from face painting and giant games to a giant tractor & boucy castle and with a playground on site there is plenty to keep the children entertained (free u14) visit website
  • Ballinrobe Racecourse (21st): Second day of this exciting summer meeting featuring an evening of National Hunt racing. First race start @5.00pm and last one TBC visit website
  • Westportif (25th): Returning to Westport, this is one of the longest running and best leisure cycling events in Ireland. Picturesque 75,120 & 150km routes on rolling Mayo roads starting and finishing in the courtyard of Westport House visit website
  • Reek Sunday (26th): The annual pilgrimage takes place every year on the last Sunday in July where thousands of people from all around the world come to Mayo to climb the country's Holiest Mountain, known as Croagh Patrick or The Reek.
  • Grainne Uaile Street Festival (30th to 2nd august): Set in Newport (10mins drive from Westport), on the shores of Clew Bay along the Wild Atlantic Way, this festival is a vibrant weekend celebrating music, heritage and family fun.
